2007 South African Safari
I just returned from South Africa with a great group of friends; Felix Gardina, Ray Travis, and consummate chef from Montana, Zac Kellerman. This was my first trip to South Africa. We had terrific accommodations. Great game, good weather. South Africa has many different types of hunting areas. We hunted for kudu and nyala in thick bush very similar to where I’ve been many times in Zimbabwe. We then drove 4 hours to a large plains area for springbuck, gemsbuck, zebra and waterbuck. South Africa is a great place to take your family or a group of friends hunting and touring. The 2nd leg of my trip was to visit my friend and PH of eight safaris, Wayne Grant. Wayne and I have been on trips through Zimbabwe and Tanzania collecting leopard, lions, antelope and buffalo for Cabela’s displays. I've personally shot five leopards with Wayne. Wayne is just finishing his long awaited book on leopard hunting titled “Into the Thorns”. I have read chapters of it on safari with Wayne and it’s impossible to put down. Wayne, besides being the best professional hunter I’ve had the pleasure of hunting with, is also a brilliant writer. I’m certain that this book will be the #1 book on leopard hunting on the market. I’ll be sending a 2nd email having to do with Wayne’s private hunting area that he owns in the Zulu-Natal region near Pietermaritzburg. He is offering an exciting and inexpensive hunting/timeshare to a few interested clients.
Best regards,
Frank
